Collingswood Borough officials are calling in outside help to move the LumberYard redevelopment project along.
On Monday night, the commissioners appointed Joseph Slaton as a financial consultant to the LumberYard project. Mayor Jim Maley said Slaton would help the borough re-structure debt associated with the redevelopment project “to make it easier for us to get this to the finish line.”
Borough Administrator Brad Stokes said Slaton will assess the LumberYard project as a whole, as well, looking at anticipated income, expenses and long-term tax impact.
According to Stokes, borough coffers received $379,000 in revenue from occupied residential and retail units last year. Those funds are directly applied to borough debt service.
