Our Time

For the first time since the American Revolution the citizens of America could become subjects of the government and the government will no longer be subject to the people. In these final hours of the new Health Care reform/ takeover we must sincerely consider this as a true option from a government once made of, for, and by the people.

In a moment not unlike today, there was a time when it seemed our nation was going down a path that was seen as an unstoppable wrong way, there was a time when it had seemed America had witnessed its final days, and America had run its course in the history of nations. There was a time in which a generation of Americans cried out to history and refused to go quietly into the night as they accepted their role to preserve the trust of liberty given to them. Each of those times the American spirit came back to remind the Republic and the world that when times are hardest and it seem that all was lost Americans stood firm in their belief and in their resolve for a nation built by the sacred trust of liberty that has been handed down from one generation of Americans to the next. That time has come again. Years from now when we are in our sunset year what will future generations of Americans say of us in our time? Will they ask what the American dream was or what it meant or will we pass on to them freedom and liberty that we cherish so dealer today for them to experience it for themselves?

The greatness and prestige of America  is not found in government but in Americans everywhere. It is found in the American worker, inventor, investor, builder, and educator. It is found in the moms and dads, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors that make up the towns, cities, communities, and states. It is found in the small shops, super centers, coffee shops, schools, buses, police, fireman and our hospitals.  The greatness and prestige is not found in Washington, DC or any of the state capitols. It is found in the 308 million Americans who make up our vast and great republic. That time of showing what America truly is has now come again and it up to our generation to protect the sacred liberty that was entrusted to us 234 years ago. We the people must stand for the ideas of which our Republic was built and defend them now, for in a given moment the freedom that we have known can be snuffed out faster than we know.  Government is most dangerous when it says it can give you everything desired and blind us of the dangers with in the very government that can take it all away when we allow it to make us dependent on it.

As we approach the final count down to The Democratic Health Care Reform, the takeover of the health care industry, we must ask ourselves is this something we want in our Republic; of, for, and by the people?  Is this health care bill which is built for special interests, favored groups, and politically connected individuals something we can allow in our nation? There is only one special interest group that the American government must listen to and that is the American people. Americans must be weary of a government so deeply entangled in other sectors of the economy. We must ask why our government who has a stake in the government owned Chrysler and GM and who owns large stakes in the banking industry now believes it must now have a large monopoly in the health care industry?  Members of the present administration call this reform the new “Law of the land”. If that is true than will this new health care reform supersedes the civil compact that “We the People” call our US Constitution? Can we trust a group of elites so out of touch with the American people to take form us our rights of life and liberty so eloquently expressed in our Constitution?  More importantly does it have a constitutional right to do this? Many cases have been placed before the Supreme Court and each time as made it clear that government may not infringe on the rights of the state and the citizens so dully explained by the 9th and 10th amendments which are retained by the people and states. The Supreme Court also has made it clear that government may not interfere in contracts between entities based on the 5th amendment of life, liberty, and property.  Last time I checked I still own my body as does each and every American own their body and in that their health which makes it property.  Congressman Andrews of NJ’s 1st District says this bill will affect 3 types of people, those with private insurance, people on Medicare or Medicaid, and those who are uninsured.

In these final hours when America looks to each citizen, Americans must be able to still say that great island of liberty is still home of the free and that the torch of liberty that has been burning for all mankind since the inception of this republic still burns for all who seek its freedom and it will be after we are departed. That this last greatest hope for humanity does not vanish from this earth and that the sacred trust of liberty given to each of us is able to be passed to the next generation of Americans.  This generation of American must answer the call that our republic so desperately needs now more than ever to accept the burden and glory that we call freedom.  The sacred fire of liberty and freedom is at stake today. Call your congressman tell them what you  think and want,  make them answer to you and if it is not the answer you want remind them they work for you.  Call them at (202)224-3121. Rob Andrews’s office numbers are (202)225-6501, (856)546-5100, and (856)848-3900. John Adler’s numbers are (202)225-4765, (856)985-2777, and (732)608-7235. Call them remind them that they work for you. Remind them that the sacred trust of liberty and freedom that has been given to us by generations of Americans before must be preserved for the next generation. Call them and let them know your thoughts and remind the government they work for America not the other way around.  Our time is now to preserve for future generations, the liberties and freedom we so dearly hold true to ourselves.
